Technology - Primary Years Programme

Mobile Devices and Smart Watches

Student mobile devices, smart watches, or non-school devices are not allowed on campus.

Computers

We are excited to continue our Chromebook program with our 3rd through 5th grades. Students will be assigned a school-managed Chromebook for classroom use only. Because the Chromebook is school-supplied, it comes with all the necessary school apps and must be used as the child's primary school device. Students will set up and become familiar with their Chromebooks during the first several weeks of school.

Technology - Middle Years Programme

Mobile Devices and Smart Watches

Student mobile devices, smart watches, or non-school devices use is not allowed on campus during school hours. Devices on campus must remain off and stored in the student’s backpack. Device use will be allowed only if explicitly asked by a teacher for educational purposes or for health conditions. Students who need to contact or hear from their parents during the school day must do so from the school office. Important, time-sensitive messages can be relayed to your child by contacting the front office via Toddle, email (family@creationvillage.com) or by phone (407.900.7708). Any student devices found outside of the above regulations will be confiscated and turned in at the front office. Parents will be notified, and the device must be picked up by the student’s parent or guardian from the front office. Students who consistently use cell phones or devices inappropriately may lose the right to bring such devices to school for a designated period, which may be the remainder of the school year. Students and parents sign a technology use agreement prior to the start of the school year outlining the acceptable use policy.

Computers

Students in the 6th and 11th grade can bring their own device if it meets the NWEA MAPS and Google Chrome specifications. Students sign a technology agreement and are responsible for the use, care, and upkeep of their Chromebooks. Computers are utilized for student work at home and charging cords are provided as well to enable students to charge their devices. Families provide carrying cases for the laptops and are responsible for any replacement for the device and charger.

Students sign the Acceptable Use Policy to ensure proper use of technology for school.
